Scarface Speaks On Being Nervous Prior To His Rock The Bells Performance With Nas
Despite putting on a near historic performance with Nas, Scarface says he was nervous about performing in front of the tri-state crowd.
The Labor Day weekend marked quite the major milestone in Hip Hop, Jay-Z and a number of acts graced the stage at Philadelphia’s Made In America festival and in New Jersey, Nas and a slew of other rappers performed as part of the Rock The Bells tour. Those in attendance at the Rock The Bells tour stop in Holmdel Township, New Jersey were treated to quite the rare performance as Nas performed alongside Hip Hop legend Scarface.While Nas and Scarface’s performance was fully welcomed by the audience, during an interview with DJ Green Lantern of Invasion Radio, Scarface revealed that he was a bit nervous about performing in front of the New Jersey crowd due to his past experiences in the tri-state area.
“I’m scared as a motherfucker to go out there,” said Scarface in the interview which was posted on Rap Radar. “I had one of them New York City 1988 flashbacks…We came in there talkin’ that [straight] shit man, New York wasn’t having that shit. They was like, ‘Huh? Nigga’s talking about guns and dope? No sir.’”
Despite his pre-show jitters, Scarface did go on to put on quite the worthy performance alongside Nas.
“That was shit was kinda crazy man. It was so fuckin crazy,” the rapper explained in regards to his perfomance. “I ain’t even gonna say it man. Green, you know what happened…Yeah that shit was live man…It’s setting in man. It’s setting in slowly, but surely. That shit looked like it was pretty big.”
