Cam'ron Says "Purple Haze 2" Will Be His Last Album
by CHRISTOPHER HARRIS
Cam'ron plans to retire after releasing Purple Haze 2 next year.
Nearly 10 years after releasing his Purple Haze album, Cam'ron is planning on calling it quits.
The Diplomats' frontman took to Instagram yesterday (December 11) to announce his retirement.
Within his Instagram video, Cam'ron visits his friend Huddy's grave, while Sam Cooke's "A Change Gone Come" plays in the background. In the caption, Cam reveals his plans to no longer pursue music.
"Fresh off da flight.. To see my brother..," he wrote. "HUD 6 told me lastnite.. #AChangeGoneCome ..my last album.. #PurpleHaze2 this summer.. It's been fun.. But HUD said we got other things to do. #Hud6"
Miss Info was able to catch up with the Harlem-bred rapper shortly after he shared the news on Instagram. Cam confirmed his plans to move on and shed some light on what he will be doing in the near future.
"Yeah, It’s a wrap. Time to move on," he told Miss Info. "Movies and clothing are doing really well for me right now. I’m helping Mendeecees [Yandy’s husband from Love & Hip Hop NY] with his album. And…I’m building a club in Vegas."
Earlier this year, Cam said that he was working on the project Federal Reserve with A-Trak. Recently, he has been putting out his First of The Month series via iTunes. Cam's crew, the Diplomats, also reunited for a string of shows throughout the year.
Purple Haze 2 is scheduled to be released next summer.
